Kelly Burns

Owner |Operator | Resident Badass | Founder of SomaCoaching and SoulSchool

Kelly O. Burns is the book-lover, yoga educator, equity ally and co-conspirator, executive coach, and mama-founder of Earth Eagle Somatics: home of the innovative and intersectional SomaCoaching experience. Born and raised in Kansas City, Kelly and her kickass family now call Fort Collins, Colorado home. Kelly spent her early career teaching at the historical Kansas City, Kansas establishment of Sumner Academy of Arts and Sciences, as a high school English teacher. She is proud to have learned from some of the most profoundly intelligent and fierce teenagers she’s ever known while at Sumner. Kelly began teaching yoga and mindfulness in 2007, after cultivating her own yoga practice starting at the young age of sixteen. In 2011, after experiencing intense teacher burnout, Kelly began integrating mindfulness and yoga into her academic classrooms. As her students responded to learning the liberatory nature of the somatic technologies of breath, movement, visualization, and sensation, Kelly began the intentional work on intersecting academic literacy and body literacy. As a lover of words, she knew she was a love punk and working hard to help students find their way.

In 2013 Kelly and her family moved to Colorado where they have created a new community that they now call home. Although the late summer tomatoes in Northern Colorado leave MUCH to be desired to this Kansas woman, she is proud to have settled on the Front Range. As an instructor of English Education at Colorado State University and a Secondary Literacy Teaching and Learning Facilitator in Poudre School District, Kelly maintains her commitment to public service and educational equity. When Kelly is not teaching yoga or best practices in anti-racist literacy instruction, she is playing basketball with her sons, running, reading, or practicing yoga. Kelly is deeply proud to have created such a sacred space for the village at her boutique studio in Fort Collins, Earth Eagle Somatics.

She is deeply committed to life-long learning and equity-based practices that will heal our world, one healthy cell at a time. She also believes that poetry is a key ingredient in this healing. Please contact her with any questions or support—come by for a cup of tea—she’d love to visit. If you are interested in joining her for a weekly Village Vinyasa class, feel free to bop over and sign up. She can’t wait to sit with you in your practice.

Kelly holds over 20 years of experience in professional learning and mindfulness-based coaching. Additionally, she holds an M.Ed, a CMI, and a 200H+ CYT. She is currently in the process of earning her C-IAYT and Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy Certificate.

Jeff Finlin

Jeff Finlin is a Certified Yoga of Recovery Counselor, Yoga Instructor -CYT 230, and a Certified Recovery Coach.  He has developed a spiritually-grounded teaching approach for those in recovery from post-traumatic stress disorder, lingering mental trauma, and other life tribulations. It is also helpful for adult children of alcoholics (ACOA).

Jeff teaches practices that are a unique combination of science, spirituality, and proven recovery technics.  Jeff works directly with individuals or small groups online or in person. The somatic practices open and balance the energy systems in the body and mind, giving one the opportunity to experience oneself beyond his or her conditioning. When practiced daily they take about 20 to 25 minutes. These practices offer an opportunity for personal freedom.  Jeff constructs individual assessments to determine where you are in your process and tailors your program to your life conditions, personal story, and needs.

Jeff is offering his integrated and personalized recovery coaching and facilitation upon appointment at Earth Eagle Somatics. In order to book an appointment, reach out through our contact page or through Jeff’s site below. We are so lucky to learn from him here in this sacred place.
